1. To Medina I am bound by an ancient pact
Whenever it is mentioned, I yearn

2. And that is only because Muhammad
The messenger of guidance, the spirit of existence, resides there

3. He is the sun except that his light in the universe
Endures, while the sun's light does not endure

4. He is the sea, his grace has encompassed all beings
By his coast, all the honorable float

5. He is time, his rule encompasses all creation
And his era is not despised during tribulations

6. He is the servant, the master of His creation
For him is the universe a servant, and time a slave

7. O prophet of guidance, o greatest of people in attaining
And whose generosity in both worlds is all-encompassing

8. And who is the best means in both abodes
An intercessor with the Generous and Noble Lord

9. Relieve my concerns, for worries have afflicted me
Distressing and painful worries

10. And it is not necessary to detail them to you
For you know all secrets
