1. The light of dawn emerged unveiled,
Revealing the guiding sun in all its splendor.

2. A book that contains the attributes of the finest messenger,
Muhammad, the chosen one above all other chosen ones.

3. None but the Quran is a book that surpasses it,
Just as none but the Creator surpassed Taha.

4. His Master's gifts to him accumulated,
So it is a book that gathered all books.

5. Yet it contains not a tenth of his merit,
Nor a tenth of a tenth of a tenth of a tenth of his worth.

6. Recite it, for as long as you have light, absorb whatever
Brings you joy in this life and the next, O reader!

7. And I beseech Allah, my God, to have mercy,
And replace my misdeeds with good deeds.
