2. So I said to her, "Do not wonder and blame me,
For my actions, when knights turn to me."

3. "Do I not repel the attack when the warrior charges?
With his two sharp cutting blades unsheathed?

4. Do I not endure the heavy crisis and advance,
Through the terrors of death when warriors take flight?

5. Do I not curb the invading sorrows with a belt,
When doubts increase for the invaders?

6. When nations attack I plunge into the fray,
My ardour makes even the fierce warrior fear.

7. By the life of your father I swear I am but a servant,
To my guests, though when I ride 'tis as a knight.

8. And though I praise God seeking his rewards,
I leave my herd straying while I remain wretched."
