عني وشط مزارهُ
O you whose dwelling has grown distant
O you whose home has grown distant
from me, and whose visiting-place lies far away;
from me, and whose place of visitation lies far away!
يفديكwould sacrifice himself for you صبٌa lovesick lover هائمٌenraptured
يفديك صبٌ هائمٌ
بكwith you لاnot يقرُsettles قرارُهhis rest
بك لا يقرُ قرارُه
a lovesick wanderer would ransom you with his life,
A lovesick, enraptured lover would give his life for you;
for love of you, he can find no rest.
for you, he can find no rest.
كثرتhave multiplied جيوشُarmies همومهhis sorrows
كثرت جيوشُ همومه
وتخاذلتand have faltered أنصارهhis allies
وتخاذلت أنصاره
The armies of his cares have multiplied,
The armies of his sorrows have multiplied,
and his allies have faltered.
