May God cherish the hours in which contentment shone forth;
May God watch over the hours in which contentment shone forth.
For these hours are nothing but feasts.
For these hours are nothing but feasts.

May God cherish a day whose joy revealed itself,
May God watch over a day whose joy shone forth,
When smiling mouths flashed brightly.
And smiling mouths gleamed within it.

A day that became a radiant mark upon the brow of Time—
A day that became a white blaze on the brow of time;
Behold, that time was festival upon festival.
Behold, that time is full of festive occasions.

O delight of my eyes, I am indeed in love
Of your beauty, O light of creation—and a servant.
With your beauty, O light of creation, and am your servant.

A beacon in the heart’s holy sanctuary, its radiance shining proudly;
A beacon of the heart's sanctity, its radiance shines;
It has lamps before which injustices are dispelled.
It has lamps through which injustices are dispelled.
فمنذfor since حلتcame to dwell عنديwith me مكارمthe noble graces of لطفهاher kindness
فمنذ حلت عندي مكارم لطفها
أبىrefused اللَهGod أنthat تحلوbe pleasing لديto me المكارمُthe noble graces
أبى اللَه أن تحلو لدي المكارمُ
Ever since the noble graces of her kindness came to dwell with me,
For since the noble graces of her kindness came to dwell with me,
God would not allow any other virtues to delight me.
God has refused to let other noble graces delight me.

Nothing but the beauty of her splendor has charmed my eye,
Nor did anything please my gaze but the beauty of her splendor,
Nor have noble beauties seemed beautiful to me.
Nor did noble beauties seem beautiful to me.

O joy of souls, I do indeed speak
Of you I speak the truth, in full sincerity; I make no idle claim.
The truth about you, affirming it; I make no unfounded claim.

May God’s peace be upon you as long as growing things turn green,
God's peace be upon you as long as growing things turn green,
And doves sing among the garden groves.
And doves sing in the gardens' groves.

وما أن مشتاقٌ وما رق راحِمُ
May God’s peace be upon you as long as one far away yearns,
God's peace be upon you as long as an exile yearns,
As long as a yearning lover moans and a compassionate heart grows tender.
And one who yearns moans, and one who shows mercy grows tender.
