quarrel with you, while estrangement heralds estrangement.

I defy you all while separation portends parting

أخاصم روحي حين يطلب نأيكم

وأسأل عنكم في سراري وفي جهرى

I quarrel with my soul when it seeks distance from you,

I defy my soul when it asks for your remoteness

and I ask after you, in private and openly.

سأذكركم ذكر الهديل أليفه
