only a thought that, in love, stirs my turmoil.

You will remember days and nights we shared,

while you are with the soul of the soul in the lofty dwelling.

that a murderous tyrant of passion sets ablaze.

their judgment sinks to the bottom, then my surmise rises.

so do not ask me about my life or my age.

    Nor ask me to repay what I owe you;

what you have taken from my eloquence and my sleeve is enough.

The world assails me—how so? Because I

fight it, and killing is followed by killing.

And who are you, O world? What is a neighbor's play,

if one day she is cast out and has no kin?

with my sandal; the sandal is the chastisement of women.

So do not marvel at my rage and my ferocity,

for I am a man with no equal in existence.
