And when you forgot our affection and our passion,

When you forgot our love and passion

And kept no pledge to us after parting,

And after parting, made no promise to keep

We began to avert our gaze from you, though within us

We turned our eyes away from you, though inside

Is a fire of longing whose blaze we cannot bear.

A fire of longing burns, no respite we seek
