If you trace my lineage, you trace that of a man of bounty,

Noble, free of blemishes and shortcomings.

All the lineages of Dhubyan encompass him,

And with his claws he struck a far-off foe.

Nor will they find, at a gathering beside a spreading tree,

When clans are reviled, anyone seeking to impugn my honor.

And they know that I bring upon them none

Of the shameful deeds that become necklaces.

And how many fine-breeding, heavily pregnant she-camels I have given

To those broken by famine years, while you could make no teat yield milk.
