May you remain lord of non-Arabs and Arabs,

    attaining every wish and desire,

hearing praise to the melody of delight,

as long as a bird sings among the boughs.

Abide in good fortune, O Commander of the Faithful,

and in glory, majesty, and greatness,

walking proudly in the shade of the Lord of the Worlds,

amid lofty honors and blessings of every kind,

    winning victory and manifest conquest,

    earning gratitude from every nation,

unfurling among them a banner for justice,

    after it had been like folded books;

thanking your Lord for what He bestowed,

ascending in honor to the highest ranks.

And in a palace that surpasses all other palaces,

    may you remain joyful for all time;

within it the cup of joy forever goes round,

for it is a place of rejoicing and companionship.

May you live there in serenity and joy,

with its secluded women, dark-eyed and beautiful.

So flourish there forever, and live in bliss,

with your most noble, distinguished sons.

May they ever live in pampered ease and flourish,

    possessing every choice distinction.

And we congratulate you on a new marriage,

for the peerless man of this age, our lord the prince.

He is your son, endowed with sound judgment,

who is called Sayf al-Nasr—the Sword of Victory—and merits the name.

May he ever enjoy his sweet, comfortable life,

like the radiant full moon on his horizon.

Then may you never cease to favor us,

safe from the fang of every calamity,

winning from us the greatest praise,

    granting petitioners their every request.

And we congratulate you on the anniversary of your accession,

for it brings the people their most splendid festival.

And in its honor the world appeared like a bride,

as she adorned herself with a lovely smile.

And its lights appeared like suns,

so, for Time, it became like a smiling mouth.

Its splendor filled the earth, just as

the air was filled with meteors soaring high.

And it mirrored the firmament, with constellations in the sky,

whose meteors soar toward the clouds.

Through you, O sun of lofty honors and eminence,

the people were happy and slept in safety.

May you remain a sun shining in this assembly,

the ministers of goodness being the moons of the age.

From you come this light within them and their charm.

May they ever, through you, enjoy an auspicious conjunction,

    obedience issuing from them whenever

you convey a command to them in any matter.

Then remain the most perfect man, through what

you possess of lineage and ancestral honor.
