كَأَنَّ الكُتبَ أَجيادُ الغَواني
تَبَدَّتappeared مِنfrom سُطورٍlines of writing فيin عُقُودِnecklaces
تَبَدَّت مِن سُطورٍ في عُقُودِ
The books are like the necks of beautiful women,
appearing in necklaces made of lines.
كَأَنَّas though سُطُورَهاtheir lines جَزعٌonyx بَهيمٌuniformly black
كَأَنَّ سُطُورَها جَزعٌ بَهيمٌ
بَدَتappeared فيهِin it مَعانٍmeanings مِنof فَريدِchoice pearls
بَدَت فيهِ مَعانٍ مِن فَريدِ
Their lines are like jet-black onyx,
in which meanings appear as choice pearls.
