خَليليّmy two friends عَينيmy eye فيin الدُّموعِthe tears فَعايناso look, you two
إِلىto أَينَwhere يَقتادُleads الفراقُparting الظَّعائِناthe women in their litters
My two friends, my eye is awash in tears; look
My beloved, my eyes are swimming in tears, so see
where parting leads the women in their litters.
Where does separation lead our miserable lives?
وَلمand did not أَرَI see أَحلىsweeter مِنthan تَبَسُّمِthe smiling of أَعيُنٍeyes

And I have seen nothing sweeter than eyes smiling
And I've not seen sweeter than the smiles of eyes
on the morning of parting, revealing pearls that lay hidden.
The morning after tears, within them hidden pearls.
