1. يا لَيتَني لِلحجازِ بالِغ

    وفيهِ عَيشي يا سعدُ سائِغ

    Oh, would that I could reach the Hijaz,

    And my life there, O Sa'd, were sweet.

  2. يُمحى ظَلامي بنورِ بدرٍ

    في طيبة الطيّبين بازِغ

    My darkness is erased by the light of a full moon,

    Rising in Taybah of the virtuous:

  3. محمّدٌ سيّد البرايا

    أفضل فردٍ في الخلق نابِغ

    Muhammad, master of all creation,

    The finest being, preeminent among creation.

  4. خاتمُ رسلِ الإله زينٌ

    لَهُم له اللَّه خير صائِغ

    The Seal of God's messengers, an adornment

    For them; God is his finest fashioner.

  5. قَد ملِئ الكونُ من هداهُ

    وَكانَ من قبل ذاك فارِغ

    Indeed, the universe has been filled with his guidance,

    And before that it was empty.

  6. أَتى بدينٍ يهدي ويردي

    لكلِّ دينٍ بالحقّ دامِغ

    He came with a religion that guides and brings ruin,

    Crushing every religion with the truth.

  7. تِرياقُ توحيدهِ حياةٌ

    لِمَن له الشرك شرُّ لادِغ

    His affirmation of God's oneness is a life-giving antidote

    For anyone to whom polytheism is the worst of stingers.

  8. وَهوَ لعمري حِصنٌ حَصينٌ

    مِن كلّ نازٍ وكلّ نازِغ

    And he, by my life, is an impregnable fortress

    Against every leaping assailant and every tempter.

  9. حقّاً رأى اللَّه في سراهُ

    لِلعرشِ ما طرفهُ بزائِغ

    Truly, he saw God on his night journey

    To the Throne, his gaze not straying.

  10. وَعادَ في ليلةٍ قريراً

    عليهِ فضلُ الرحمنِ سابِغ

    And he returned within a night, content,

    With the All-Merciful's grace abundant upon him.
