طالَ شَوقي لطيبةِ الطيبّاتِ

طالَ شَوقي لطيبةِ الطيبّاتِ

موطنِ المكرُمات والبركاتِ

موطنِ المكرُمات والبركاتِ

Long have I yearned for Taybah, rich in goodness,

Long has been my yearning for the best of the good,

The home of noble virtues and blessings.

The place of generous and blessed dwellers,

ليتَ شِعري يا سعدُ بعدَ نزوحي

ليتَ شِعري يا سعدُ بعدَ نزوحي

هَل أَراها بأعيني النازحاتِ

هَل أَراها بأعيني النازحاتِ

Would that I knew, O Saʿd, after my departure:

I wonder, O Sa'd, after my emigration,

Will I see her with my eyes, now far away?

Will I see it with my displaced eyes?

يا نُزولاً بِها هنيئاً فقد فز

يا نُزولاً بِها هنيئاً فقد فز

تُم بِها في حياتِكم والمماتِ

تُم بِها في حياتِكم والمماتِ

O dwellers there, joy be yours, for you have

O to settle there! Congratulations, for you have won,

Triumphed there, in your lives and in death.

Through it, in your life and death,

مِن جنانٍ إلى جنانٍ فأنتم

مِن جنانٍ إلى جنانٍ فأنتم

في كِلا الحالتين في جنّاتِ

في كِلا الحالتين في جنّاتِ

From gardens to gardens, for you are

From gardens to gardens, so you are

In both states amid gardens of Paradise.

In either case, in gardens,

حبّذا العيشُ عَيشكم عندَ مثوى

حبّذا العيشُ عَيشكم عندَ مثوى

أكرمِ الخلقِ سيّد الساداتِ

أكرمِ الخلقِ سيّد الساداتِ

How lovely is life—your life beside the resting place

Blessed is your life in the abode

Of the noblest of creation, the master of masters:

Of the most generous of people, the master of masters,

أَحمدَ المُصطفى محمّدٍ المح

أَحمدَ المُصطفى محمّدٍ المح

مود شمسِ الوجودِ هادي الهداةِ

مود شمسِ الوجودِ هادي الهداةِ

Ahmad the Chosen One, Muhammad the

I praise Muhammad, the chosen one, the praised,

Praised One, sun of existence, guide of guides.

The sun of existence, the guide of guides,

عِشتم في جِواره في أمانٍ

عِشتم في جِواره في أمانٍ

مِن صروفِ الردى وخوف العداةِ

مِن صروفِ الردى وخوف العداةِ

You have lived beside him in safety,

You have lived in his company, in safety

From the turns of doom and fear of foes.

From the vicissitudes of misery and fear of enemies,

وَدَخلُتم مِن نوره في حصونٍ

وَدَخلُتم مِن نوره في حصونٍ

فَسلمتُم مِن هذه الظلماتِ

فَسلمتُم مِن هذه الظلماتِ

And you entered fortresses of his light,

And through his light, you have entered fortresses

And so were safe from this darkness.

And so were safe from these darknesses,

ظُلماتٌ لولا سواطعُ أنوا

ظُلماتٌ لولا سواطعُ أنوا

رِ هداهُ عمّت جميع الجهاتِ

رِ هداهُ عمّت جميع الجهاتِ

Darkness that, but for the radiance of the lights

Darknesses which, were it not for the rays of his guidance

Of his guidance, would have engulfed every region.

Would have covered all directions,

ما غَبطنا الملوكَ لكن غَبطنا

ما غَبطنا الملوكَ لكن غَبطنا

كُم على نيل أحسن الحالاتِ

كُم على نيل أحسن الحالاتِ

We did not envy kings, but envied

We do not congratulate kings, but we congratulate

You for attaining the best of conditions.

You for attaining the best of conditions.
