كتابٌ تسمّى حجّة اللَّه من وعى

كتابٌ تسمّى حجّة اللَّه من وعى

مُسمّاه فَهماً يُلفهِ طابَقَ الإسما

مُسمّاه فَهماً يُلفهِ طابَقَ الإسما

A book called “God’s Proof”—whoever understands

A book called Proof of God composed

its substance well will find it matches its name.

Its writer with understanding covered its name

أَتى جامِعاً مِن معجزاتِ محمّدٍ

أَتى جامِعاً مِن معجزاتِ محمّدٍ

نبيّ الهُدى خيرِ الورى عدداً جمّا

نبيّ الهُدى خيرِ الورى عدداً جمّا

It has gathered miracles of Muhammad,

It came together from the miracles of Muhammad

the Prophet of guidance, the best of humankind, in great numbers.

The prophet of guidance, best of creation in number

نُجومٌ بأفقِ الدين كم ذا اِهتدى بها

نُجومٌ بأفقِ الدين كم ذا اِهتدى بها

بَصيرٌ وكَم أودى ولم يرَها أعمى

بَصيرٌ وكَم أودى ولم يرَها أعمى

Stars on faith’s horizon—how often they have guided

Stars on the horizon of religion, how many were guided by them

a clear-sighted man; and how many a blind man perished without seeing them!

A seer, and how many led astray never seeing them

وَمُعجزةُ القُرآن كالشمسِ أَشرقت

وَمُعجزةُ القُرآن كالشمسِ أَشرقت

وَدامَت وَسارت عمّتِ العربَ والعجما

وَدامَت وَسارت عمّتِ العربَ والعجما

And the miracle of the Qur’an shone like the sun,

And the miracle of the Quran like the rising sun

and endured and spread, encompassing Arabs and non-Arabs.

Lasting, traveling, encompassing Arab and non-Arab

هوَ الحجّةُ الكبرى على كلّ جاحدٍ

هوَ الحجّةُ الكبرى على كلّ جاحدٍ

نبوّة خيرِ الخلقِ والآية العظمى

نبوّة خيرِ الخلقِ والآية العظمى

It is the supreme proof against everyone who denies

It is the greatest proof against every denier

the prophethood of the best of creation, and it is the greatest sign.

Of the prophethood of best of creation and the greatest sign

وَربَّ اِمرئٍ من نوره متضرّرٍ

وَربَّ اِمرئٍ من نوره متضرّرٍ

يَرى الشركَ والخفّاشُ تعجبه الظلما

يَرى الشركَ والخفّاشُ تعجبه الظلما

And many a man, harmed by its light,

And how many a man impaired by its light

holds to polytheism; and the bat delights in darkness.

Sees polytheism yet the bat is amazed by darkness

وَواللَّه لولا اللَّهُ قاضٍ على الورى

وَواللَّه لولا اللَّهُ قاضٍ على الورى

قَضاءً بعدلٍ وافقَ القدر الحتما

قَضاءً بعدلٍ وافقَ القدر الحتما

And by God, were God not judging humankind,

By God if not for God judging creation

with a just judgment in accord with inevitable destiny,

With justice fulfilling destiny inevitably

لما اِختارَ ذو عقلٍ سوى دين أحمدٍ

لما اِختارَ ذو عقلٍ سوى دين أحمدٍ

وَلكن قضاءُ اللَّه في خلقه تمّا

وَلكن قضاءُ اللَّه في خلقه تمّا

no person of reason would choose any faith but Ahmad’s;

None with intellect would choose any religion but Ahmad's

yet God’s decree concerning His creation has come to pass.

But God's ordainment regarding his creation is complete
