إذهبgo فأنتَfor you are طليقُfree عِرhonor (first fragment)
ضِكَyour honor (remaining fragment) ذَلَّhas become abased حتّىso much that قدindeed حَماكاhas shielded you
Go, for you are free; your honor
Go, for you are free to roam
has sunk so low that it has shielded you.
My land, though it has been made desolate
إنَّindeed المُضيّعَthe squanderer شعرَهُhis verse
عينthe very المضيّعِsquanderer مَنwhoever هجاكاlampooned you
Indeed, the one who wastes his verse—
He who wastes his time destroys
the very squanderer—is whoever has lampooned you.
His eyes, and the eyes of those who revile you
إنّيindeed I سأصرفُI shall redirect صائناًsafeguarding [my verse]
عنكaway from you الهجِاءَsatire إلىtoward سِواكاsomeone other than you
Indeed, to safeguard my verse, I shall turn
I will surely turn away, protecting
satire away from you and toward someone else.
You from revilement, to others
أَسَلُI ask الذيthe One who خلقcreated البريّةall creatures
أَنthat يََراكَhe may see you كماas أراكاI see you
I ask the One who created all creatures
I ask Him who created the wilderness
to see you as I see you.
To see you as I see you
