هذه حديقة ورد عزَّ جانبها

هذه حديقة ورد عزَّ جانبها

وحبذا روض ورد يفرج الكُرَبا

This is a rose garden whose precinct is exalted;

This is a garden of roses that grace its side

And how splendid a rose garden that dispels sorrows!

And a flower garden that dispels sorrows

مَن طافها يَر فيها الدر منتظما

مَن طافها يَر فيها الدر منتظما

والطيب منتشراً والسكر مُختلَبا

والطيب منتشراً والسكر مُختلَبا

Whoever tours it sees pearls strung within it,

Whoever wanders through it sees pearls lined up within

And fragrance spreading, and intoxication captured,

Fragrance spread, and sugar being extracted

كالورد نضدَّهُفي روضهِ سحراً

كالورد نضدَّهُفي روضهِ سحراً

درُّ الندى أو كراح كُلِّلت حَبَبا

درُّ الندى أو كراح كُلِّلت حَبَبا

Like the rose, arrayed in its garden before dawn

Like roses whose nectar enchants its meadow

By pearls of dew—or like wine crowned with bubbles,

Either drops of dew or vines adorned with seeds

أو بحر خمرٍ بمآءِ الورد ممتَزجٍ

أو بحر خمرٍ بمآءِ الورد ممتَزجٍ

والجوهر الفرد فيهِ يَملاءُ العببا

والجوهر الفرد فيهِ يَملاءُ العببا

Or a sea of wine mingled with rosewater,

Or a sea of wine mixed with rosewater

And the peerless jewel within it fills the folds of robes.

With unique gems filling each cup
