O Lebanon, you are no home to the unbowed,

nor the homeland of the valiant nation.

ظلمت وبت صبوراً ذليلاً

قتلت وبست اليد القاتله

You were wronged, and remained patient and abased;

And indeed, within you the guilty treacherously slew the innocent,

The wicked and the innocent have become confused in you

yet no young man within you struck down a scourge.

And no courageous youth has been killed in you unjustly
