Time gave me, in exchange for your fragrance, a glimpse—

of your traces; against my will was that recompense.

Then it sought to undo the bargain, for its barriers have come

to stand between me and drawing near the traces.

So tell whoever bars what is lawful and allowed: tomorrow

he will be dead—and, by your worth, no longer stand in the way.
