أفكّرُI think فيof فُرَيَّةَFurayya ماwhat تُلاقيshe faces
منfrom الدّنياthe world فتغشانِيso they overwhelm me الهُمومُcares
I think of Furayya and what she faces
in the world, and cares overwhelm me.
وتَصعدُand rises زفرتِيmy sigh أسفاًin sorrow لعلميbecause I know
بماof what يَلقَىencounters منof البؤسِmisery اليتيمُthe orphan
And my sigh rises in sorrow, for I know
what misery an orphan endures.
وقدand indeed أودعتُهاI entrusted her رَبّاًto a Lord كريماًgenerous
وماand not يَنْسَىforgets وديعتَهwhat is entrusted to Him الكريمُthe Generous One
And I have entrusted her to a generous Lord,
and the Generous One does not forget what is entrusted to Him.
