نَذودُ بِذِكْرِ اللهِ عنّا مِنَ السُّرى

نَذودُ بِذِكْرِ اللهِ عنّا مِنَ السُّرى

إِذا كانَ قلبانا بِنا يَجِفانِ

إِذا كانَ قلبانا بِنا يَجِفانِ

By remembering God, we ward off what besets us during night travel,

With remembrance of God we ward off melancholy,

When our two hearts tremble within us.

When our hearts within us grow arid.
