بِاللَهِ يا ظَبيَ بَني الحارِثِ

هَل مَن وَفى بِالعَهدِ كَالناكِثِ

هَل مَن وَفى بِالعَهدِ كَالناكِثِ

By God, O gazelle of Banu al-Harith,

By Allah, O gazelle of Bani al-Harith

is one who keeps the pledge like one who breaks it?

Is there anyone who fulfills a promise like the violator?

لا تَخدَعَنّي بِالمُنى باطِلاً

لا تَخدَعَنّي بِالمُنى باطِلاً

وَأَنتَ بي تَلعَبُ كَالعابِثِ

وَأَنتَ بي تَلعَبُ كَالعابِثِ

Do not beguile me with false hopes,

Do not deceive me with false hopes

while you toy with me like a trifler.

While you play with me like a frivolous one

حَتى مَتى أَنتَ لَنا هَكَذا

حَتى مَتى أَنتَ لَنا هَكَذا

نَفسي فِداءٌ لَكَ يا حارِثي

نَفسي فِداءٌ لَكَ يا حارِثي

How long will you be this way toward us?

How long will you be like this with us?

يا مُنتَهى هَمّي وَيا مُنيَتي
