وَمَيَّزَ في إِنفاقِهِ بَينَ مُصلِحٍ

وَمَيَّزَ في إِنفاقِهِ بَينَ مُصلِحٍ

مُعايَشَةً يَضُرُ وَيَنفَعُ

مُعايَشَةً يَضُرُ وَيَنفَعُ

And in his spending he distinguished between what improves

He distinguished in his spending between what improves

life with others, what harms, and what benefits.

Livelihood, harming and benefiting.

إِذا اِكتَسَبَ المالَ الفَتى مِن وجوهِهِ

إِذا اِكتَسَبَ المالَ الفَتى مِن وجوهِهِ

وَأَحسَنَ تَدبيراً لَهُ حينَ يَجمَعُ

وَأَحسَنَ تَدبيراً لَهُ حينَ يَجمَعُ

When a young man earns wealth from its sources,

When the young man earns money from its sources

and manages it well when he gathers it,

And manages it well when he collects it

وَأَرضى بِهِ أَهل الحُتوفِ وَلَم يَضَع

وَأَرضى بِهِ أَهل الحُتوفِ وَلَم يَضَع

بِهِ الذُخرَ زاداً لِلَتي هيَ أَنفَعُ

بِهِ الذُخرَ زاداً لِلَتي هيَ أَنفَعُ

and with it pleases the folk of death, and does not set aside

And satisfies the people of the huts and does not waste

with it a reserve as provision for what is more beneficial,

With it provision - that which is more beneficial -

فَذاكَ الفَتى لا جامِعُ المالِ ذاخراً

فَذاكَ الفَتى لا جامِعُ المالِ ذاخراً

لِأَولادِ سوءٍ حَيثُ حَلّوا وَأَوضَعوا

لِأَولادِ سوءٍ حَيثُ حَلّوا وَأَوضَعوا

that is the young man—not one who amasses wealth, saving it

Then that young man is not the hoarder of wealth

for wicked children, wherever they settle and hasten on.

For wicked children wherever they settled.
