وَحَدَّثَني عَن مَجلِسٍ كُنتِ زَينَهُ

وَحَدَّثَني عَن مَجلِسٍ كُنتِ زَينَهُ

رَسولٌ أَمينٌ وَالنِساءُ شُهودُ

رَسولٌ أَمينٌ وَالنِساءُ شُهودُ

And I was told of a gathering whose adornment you were,

He told me of a gathering where you were an adornment

By a trustworthy messenger, with the women as witnesses.

With a trustworthy messenger and women as witnesses

فَقُلتُ لَهُ كُرَّ الحَديثَ الَّذي مَضى

فَقُلتُ لَهُ كُرَّ الحَديثَ الَّذي مَضى

وَذِكرَكِ مَن ذاكَ الحَديثِ أُريدُ

وَذِكرَكِ مَن ذاكَ الحَديثِ أُريدُ

So I said to him, “Repeat the tale just told;

So I said to him, “Speak no more of what has passed

And it is the mention of you in that tale I desire.”

For it's your mention in that tale I seek”
