إِنّا رَضينا وَإِن غابَت جَماعَتُها

إِنّا رَضينا وَإِن غابَت جَماعَتُها

ما قالَ سَيِّدُنا رَوحُ بنُ زِنباعِ

ما قالَ سَيِّدُنا رَوحُ بنُ زِنباعِ

Indeed, we have accepted, even if its assembly was absent,

Though absent now her tribe may be

what our lord Rawḥ ibn Zinbāʿ said.

What our master Ruḥ said was true

يَرعى ثَمانينَ أَلفاً كانَ مِثلُهُمُ

يَرعى ثَمانينَ أَلفاً كانَ مِثلُهُمُ

مِمّا يُخالِفُ أَحياناً عَلى الراعي

مِمّا يُخالِفُ أَحياناً عَلى الراعي

He shepherds eighty thousand, whose like were

He tended flocks of eighty thousand head

among those who sometimes rebel against the shepherd.

Though at times they disobeyed the shepherd's rule
