في مُقبِلِ الأَمرِ تَشبيهٌ وَمُدبِرُهُ

في مُقبِلِ الأَمرِ تَشبيهٌ وَمُدبِرُهُ

كَأَنَّما فيهِ بِاللَيلِ المَصابيحُ

كَأَنَّما فيهِ بِاللَيلِ المَصابيحُ

In the affair’s beginning and its end there is a likeness—

as though lamps were shining within it by night.
