عَبدَ العَزيزِ فَضَحتَ جَيشَكَ كُلَّهُم

عَبدَ العَزيزِ فَضَحتَ جَيشَكَ كُلَّهُم

وَتَرَكتَهُم صَرعى بِكُلِّ سَبيلِ

وَتَرَكتَهُم صَرعى بِكُلِّ سَبيلِ

Abd al-Aziz, you have disgraced your whole army,

Abdul Aziz, you have disgraced your whole army,

and left them fallen along every road:

And left them slain in every road.

مِن بَينِ ذي عَطَشٍ يَجودُ بِنَفسِهِ

مِن بَينِ ذي عَطَشٍ يَجودُ بِنَفسِهِ

وَمُلَحَّبٍ بَينَ الرِجالِ قَتيلِ

وَمُلَحَّبٍ بَينَ الرِجالِ قَتيلِ

among them, one thirsty man giving up his life,

Amongst the thirsty who freely gave their souls,

and one hacked to pieces, slain among the men.

And the brave covered with wounds midst the valiant dead.

هَلّا صَبَرتَ مَعَ الشَهيدِ مُقاتِلاً

هَلّا صَبَرتَ مَعَ الشَهيدِ مُقاتِلاً

إِذ رُحتَ مُنتَكِثَ القُوى بِأَصيلِ

إِذ رُحتَ مُنتَكِثَ القُوى بِأَصيلِ

Why did you not stand firm, fighting beside the martyr,

Why did you not show patience and fight with the martyrs?

when you departed in the late afternoon, your strength undone?

When you retreated breaking your vows.

وَتَرَكتَ جَيشَكَ لا أَميرَ عَلَيهِمُ

وَتَرَكتَ جَيشَكَ لا أَميرَ عَلَيهِمُ

فَاِرجِع بِعارٍ في الحَياةِ طَويلِ

فَاِرجِع بِعارٍ في الحَياةِ طَويلِ

And you left your army with no commander over them;

And left your army with no commander,

so return bearing lasting shame in this life.

So return covered in shame to live a long life.

وَنَسيتَ عِرسَكَ إِذ تُقادُ سَبِيَّةً

وَنَسيتَ عِرسَكَ إِذ تُقادُ سَبِيَّةً

تُبكي العُيونَ بِرَنَّةٍ وَعَويلِ

تُبكي العُيونَ بِرَنَّةٍ وَعَويلِ

And you forgot your wife as she was led away captive,

And forgot your wedding when your bride is led captive,

making eyes weep with a plaintive cry and wailing.

Eyes weeping with wailing and lament.
