So do not bury me, for my grave is forbidden

to you; but come upon me, Mother of ʿĀmir.

When they strike my head—and in the head lies most of me—

and there, at the battlefield, the rest of me is left behind.

There I desire no life that would gladden me

for as long as nights endure, while I am doomed for my offenses.
