إذا انقبض الجُلاِّسُ عن كلّ حاجب

إذا انقبض الجُلاِّسُ عن كلّ حاجب

فلستُ بمملولٍ ولا بمبعَّدِ

فلستُ بمملولٍ ولا بمبعَّدِ

When the seated companions withdraw from every chamberlain,

I am neither found tiresome nor sent away;

ولكنني أُرْخَي على كلّ مجلسٍ

ولكنني أُرْخَي على كلّ مجلسٍ

وتُسْبَل أطنابي على كلّ مَرْقَد

وتُسْبَل أطنابي على كلّ مَرْقَد

But I am drawn down over every gathering,

And my tent ropes are lowered over every resting place.
