Parting from you is sharper than the edge of a keen sword.

And your distance is more withering to heart and soul.

And but for your imminent parting, I would not have known

That separation leaves the heart bereft of reason.

And my soul was not resilient enough in parting from you

For you to divide it between remoteness and nearness.

My eye has indeed been denied its sleep because of your parting,

Just as the soul has lavished love on you alone.
