O God's trusted one, [accept] the invitation of one

Who through you attained his wish and hope.

We are amid revelry and delight,

Partaking of its purity in ample portions,

And singing like lovers' union, when

    The beloved does not mar it with a 'no';

And bliss whose side has grown supple,

Draped in fragrance and wrapped in it.

We urge on the intoxicating wine,

And set life swaying in its prime.

And youth is sweet to taste, even if

The reproacher calls it folly, even if he censures.

Grant us the days of our life,

Graciously, O best of those petitioned,

And come to us on our Friday,

And let it continue into Saturday.

I have asked God to grant me

Favor from you, and indeed He has done so.

May the All-Merciful make our courtyard flourish

Through you—and the days and dynasties too.
