Many are the robes of fair, lovely, doll-like women,

Yet I am more splendid and more beautiful than they.

I am drawn across fair foreheads, and I fold

Over lovely forelocks, and am let hang down.

And I kiss flushed cheeks with her permission.

And at times I am wound about bosoms, and carried.

And no beauty has ever shunned me since I came to be,

Nor has any beautiful woman been seen going about without me.
