فيك للمكرمات سر خفي

كامِنٌ وهو في البريَّة جهر

كامِنٌ وهو في البريَّة جهر

In you lies a hidden secret of noble virtues,

In you there is a secret charm

Concealed, yet manifest among humankind.

Hidden yet manifest in the wilderness

أنت ليثٌ وأنت بحر وغَيْثٌ

أنت ليثٌ وأنت بحر وغَيْثٌ

وسحابٌ جَزْلٌ وشمسٌ وبدرُ

وسحابٌ جَزْلٌ وشمسٌ وبدرُ

You are a lion, and you are a sea and rain,

You are a lion, an ocean, a life-giver

And a bountiful cloud, a sun, and a full moon.

Abundant rain, sun, full moon

كيف سمّوا في الأرض بحراً وقطرا

كيف سمّوا في الأرض بحراً وقطرا

وندى راحتيك بحر وقَطْر

وندى راحتيك بحر وقَطْر

How could they call anything on earth a sea or rain,

Why name a sea or rain upon the earth

When the dew of your two palms is sea and rain?

When your benevolence is sea and rain

يا إماماً لولاه ما ستُمطِر الجو

يا إماماً لولاه ما ستُمطِر الجو

دُ ولا كان للبريّة فخر

دُ ولا كان للبريّة فخر

O Imam, without whom bounty would not be asked to rain,

O Imam without whom the sky would not rain

Nor would humankind have any glory.

Nor would the wilderness have pride

إنني فيك قائلٌ قولَ حقٍّ

إنني فيك قائلٌ قولَ حقٍّ

ساعةٌ من فراق وجهك شهرُ

ساعةٌ من فراق وجهك شهرُ

Indeed, I speak a word of truth about you:

Truly I say of you words of truth

An hour of separation from your face is a month.

An hour without your face seems an age

لعنة الله والعبادِ على مَنْ

لعنة الله والعبادِ على مَنْ

ليس يهواك منه قلبٌ وصدر

ليس يهواك منه قلبٌ وصدر

May the curse of God and His servants be upon anyone

Cursed by God and His servants is he

Whose heart and breast do not love you.

Whose heart and breast do not love you
