I esteem you too highly to ransom you with wealth, for I

see that wealth's like can be acquired when it is lost.

But I would ransom you with my life, for it

is the noblest and most precious of all I guard and possess.

So do not shed my blood unjustly and wantonly,

For the love of you within it is shed—O you for whom I would give my life.
