وبركة تزهو بنيلُوفَرٍ

نسيمه يشبه نَشْرُ الحبيبْ

And a pond, resplendent with a water lily,

A blessing blooms in the Nile at Hoover Dam

Whose fragrant breeze resembles the beloved's scent,

Its breeze is like a lover's fluttering breath

مفتَّح الأجفان في نومه

مفتَّح الأجفان في نومه

حتى إذا الشمس دنت للمغيبْ

Its eyelids open as it sleeps,

Until, when the sun drew near to setting,

أطبَق جفنيه على خدّه

وغاص في البركة خوف الرقيبْ
