أني أتيت، وملء النفس إيمان

أني أتيت، وملء النفس إيمان

O my Lord, my atonement for every sin

My repentance for every sin

Is that I have come, with faith filling my soul.

Is that I came, my soul filled with faith

أتيت أطرق باباً كل مجترم

أتيت أطرق باباً كل مجترم

أتاه يرجع عنه، وهو جذلان

أتاه يرجع عنه، وهو جذلان

I have come to knock upon a door; every sinner

I came knocking on a door where every sinner

Who comes to it departs from it rejoicing.

Comes to turn away from it, yet it is most generous

قد استضاف كريماً لايمن بما

قد استضاف كريماً لايمن بما

يعطه وفي منه للنفس رضوان

يعطه وفي منه للنفس رضوان

He has sought hospitality from a generous One who does not reproach him with what

It has hosted a generous one who does not believe in what

He gives him, and in His bounty the soul finds contentment.

It gives him, yet it finds joy in giving to the soul

فاغفر وسامح وتب واصفح ففي كبدي

فاغفر وسامح وتب واصفح ففي كبدي

الآثام تصرخ والاحساس يقظان

الآثام تصرخ والاحساس يقظان

So forgive and pardon, turn to me in mercy and overlook my faults, for in my liver

So forgive, pardon, relent and let go, for in my liver

Sins cry out, and my awareness is wakeful.

Are sins that cry out and sensations that are awake

رباه هذي يدي تمد ضارعة

رباه هذي يدي تمد ضارعة

ومن نداك لها صفح وغفران

ومن نداك لها صفح وغفران

O my Lord, this is my hand, outstretched in supplication,

My Lord, here are my hands raised pleading

And from Your generosity come pardon and forgiveness for it.

And from Your gifts to them are pardon and forgiveness

وفي الحنايا براكين معربدة

وفي الحنايا براكين معربدة

ومن لظاها على الخدين طوفان

ومن لظاها على الخدين طوفان

And in the recesses of my breast are raging volcanoes,

And in sorrows are raging volcanoes

And from their blaze, over both cheeks, a flood

And who can withstand their floods on the cheeks

جرت به عين من ناداك معترفاً

جرت به عين من ناداك معترفاً

بالذنب وهو لما قد فات ندمان

بالذنب وهو لما قد فات ندمان

Has streamed from the eye of one who called upon You, confessing

The eye of one who called on You confessing

His sin, while he is remorseful for what has already passed.

His sin and regretting what had passed, flowed

أيامه البيض فرت من أنامله

أيامه البيض فرت من أنامله

لما عصاك فعاثت فيه أحزان

لما عصاك فعاثت فيه أحزان

His white days fled from his fingertips

Its white days escaped from his fingers

When he disobeyed You, and sorrows ran riot within him.

When he disobeyed You, so sorrows ravaged him

رباه جاءك لا يرجوك نائلة ً

رباه جاءك لا يرجوك نائلة ً

إلا رضاك ففي العينين هتان

إلا رضاك ففي العينين هتان

O my Lord, he has come to You, seeking no gift from You

My Lord, I came to You hoping for nothing

Except Your pleasure, for a downpour fills both eyes.

Except Your pleasure, so my eyes are infatuated

فإن أخذت مسيئاً بالذي اقترفت

فإن أخذت مسيئاً بالذي اقترفت

منه اليمين فقد اغواه شيطان

منه اليمين فقد اغواه شيطان

And if You punish a wrongdoer for what was committed

So if You take the evildoer for what I committed

By his right hand, a devil has indeed led him astray.

The devil seduced me from it to the oath

فنال عدلا ولم تخسر بضاعته

فنال عدلا ولم تخسر بضاعته

فشرعك العدل والغفران احسان

فشرعك العدل والغفران احسان

Then he has received justice, and his merchandise has suffered no loss.

So grant justice and do not lose his merchandise

For Your law is justice, and forgiveness is benevolence.

For Your law is justice and forgiveness is kindness

وان رحمت ففضل واسع كرماً

وان رحمت ففضل واسع كرماً

وانت بالفضل حنان ومنان

وانت بالفضل حنان ومنان

And if You show mercy, it is bounty vast in generosity,

And if You show mercy, it is abundant generosity

And You, in Your bounty, are compassionate and ever-giving.

And You are in grace, affectionate and benevolent
