أثابك مولاك المهابة والرضى

أثابك مولاك المهابة والرضى

ولازلت كهفاً للوفود ومعقلا

May your Lord reward you with awe-inspiring dignity and favor,

May your Lord grant you reverence and contentment

And may you ever be a sheltering cave for delegations and a stronghold.

You remain a cave for pilgrims and a stronghold

ولازلت بالمعروف تعرف دائماً

ولازلت بالمعروف تعرف دائماً

وبالجود موصوفاً وبالفضل والعلا

وبالجود موصوفاً وبالفضل والعلا

And may you always be known for kindness,

You still recognize kindness always

And renowned for generosity, virtue, and eminence.

Described with generosity, merit, and sublimity

ولا زلت في الدنيا عزيزاً ممتعاً

ولا زلت في الدنيا عزيزاً ممتعاً

وفي جنة المأوى لك الخلد منزلاً

وفي جنة المأوى لك الخلد منزلاً

And may you remain honored in this world, enjoying its blessings,

You still remain in life honorable and enjoyable

And in the Garden of Refuge, may eternity be your abode.

In the garden of refuge, for you is eternal dwelling

معافاً من الأسوى سليماً من الأذى

معافاً من الأسوى سليماً من الأذى

خلياً من الشكوى ولا زلت موئلا

خلياً من الشكوى ولا زلت موئلا

Free of affliction and safe from harm,

Free from adversity, safe from harm

Free of complaint, and may you ever remain a refuge.

Empty of grievance, you still remain a shelter

يلائمك الإقبال ما عشت سالماً

يلائمك الإقبال ما عشت سالماً

عزيزاً دواماً ما حييت ممهلا

عزيزاً دواماً ما حييت ممهلا

May good fortune attend you as long as you live in safety,

Prosperity befits you, as long as you live healthy

Ever honored, as long as you live, granted respite.

Honorable always, as long as you live slowly

فما قل من معروف جودك عندكم

فما قل من معروف جودك عندكم

يكون كثيراً عندنا لا مقللاًَ

يكون كثيراً عندنا لا مقللاًَ

For whatever kindness from your generosity seems little to you

So whatever little kindness from your generosity with us

Is great to us, not to be belittled.

Becomes plentiful with us, not deficient

فما فاعل المعروف إلاَّ ممدحاً

فما فاعل المعروف إلاَّ ممدحاً

ولا فاعل الإحسان إلاَّ مبجلا

ولا فاعل الإحسان إلاَّ مبجلا

For one who does kindness is always highly praised,

The doer of kindness is only praised

And one who does good is always revered.

And the bestower of charity is only revered

إذا المرء لم يترك أخاه مهانة

إذا المرء لم يترك أخاه مهانة

ولا غفلة منه ولا كان عن قلا

ولا غفلة منه ولا كان عن قلا

If a man does not abandon his brother out of contempt,

If one does not leave his brother disgraced

Nor through heedlessness on his part, nor out of hatred,

Nor inattentive, nor was he stingy

وواصل بالمعروف خلا فإنما

وواصل بالمعروف خلا فإنما

له الفضل بالمعروف ما كان أفضلا

له الفضل بالمعروف ما كان أفضلا

And maintains ties with a friend through kindness, then indeed

And he connects with kindness selflessly

His alone is the merit for kindness, so long as he is the more generous.

For him is the merit in kindness, for he is most generous
