Your tomb, O Habib, has become a paradise.

Above it hovered the souls of the illustrious.

And after you were gone, O my mainstay, my heart melted.

And my home swam in crimson tears.

I wonder whether those beauties, my beloved,

have remained with you today, just as they were.

Indeed, they unjustly dubbed you al-Nahhas,

And your essence was a jewel, sustained by gentleness,

And soared in perfection; so I said, 'Record the date:'

'For Habib’s soul has soared in divine favor.'
