أيا كوكب الشرق الذي ران حبه

على الخلق واستدعاه بالبرق مولانا

على الخلق واستدعاه بالبرق مولانا

O star of the East, love for whom has held sway

O planet of the East whose love

over humankind, and whom our lord summoned by telegraph.

Spread over creation and summoned it with lightening, our Master

وسماه حسنُ الخلقِ والخلقِ يوسفاً

وسماه حسنُ الخلقِ والخلقِ يوسفاً

وكناه حبُّ العدلِ والفضلِ مطرانا

وكناه حبُّ العدلِ والفضلِ مطرانا

Beauty of character and form named him Yusuf,

He named it the beauty of nature and creation Joseph

and love of justice and virtue gave him the title of metropolitan bishop.

And nicknamed it the love of justice and grace, rain

لقد ظلتَ في ظل الخلافة مكرماً

لقد ظلتَ في ظل الخلافة مكرماً

وأصبحت غوثاً للعفاة ورضوانا

Indeed, you have remained honored in the shade of the caliphate,

You have remained honored under the Caliphate

and have become succor for those seeking bounty, and a source of contentment.

And have become succor for the weak and satisfaction

فدم سنداً للقاصدين فبرهم

فدم سنداً للقاصدين فبرهم

يزيدك حسناً وافتخاراً وإيمانا

يزيدك حسناً وافتخاراً وإيمانا

So remain a support for those who seek you, for kindness to them

So remain a support for seekers and by it

increases your beauty, pride, and faith.
