لنا لا نقَّص اللَه افتخارَهْ

Fuad, the heart of the realm, brings every glory

The king's heart brings every pride

To us—may God never diminish his glory.

For us, God does not detract from his glory

وزيرٌ فاضلٌ برٌّ حليمٌ

وزيرٌ فاضلٌ برٌّ حليمٌ

قدير أبَّد اللَه اقتداره

قدير أبَّد اللَه اقتداره

A virtuous minister, benevolent and forbearing,

A virtuous, righteous, forbearing minister

Capable—may God make his power everlasting.

God made his power everlasting

سراط العدل من نعمى يديه

سراط العدل من نعمى يديه

ومن إحسانه سلْكُ الإشاره

ومن إحسانه سلْكُ الإشاره

The path of justice comes from his hands' bounty,

The path of justice from the blessing of his hands

And the signal wire is among his benefactions.

And from his benevolence the gesturing

ومن مثل السراط الكهربائي

ومن مثل السراط الكهربائي

لتحسين السياسة والتجاره

لتحسين السياسة والتجاره

And what can rival the electric pathway

And the likes of the electric torch

For improving governance and trade?

To improve politics and trade

يمد على الطروس حروف نورٍ

يمد على الطروس حروف نورٍ

إذا ما مد في الأسلاك ناره

إذا ما مد في الأسلاك ناره

It spreads letters of light upon the pages

It extends rays of light over the countryside

When it sends its fire through the wires.

When it extends its fire through the wires

فلم يبعد عليه نوالُ شيءٍ

فلم يبعد عليه نوالُ شيءٍ

كأنَّ الكون أجمع صار داره

كأنَّ الكون أجمع صار داره

Thus nothing was beyond its reach,

So nothing was too far for it to reach

As though the whole universe had become its home.

As if the whole universe became its home

تمهَّر باللغات فقلت أرِّخ

تمهَّر باللغات فقلت أرِّخ

كبير الملك خوَّله المهاره

كبير الملك خوَّله المهاره

It mastered languages, so I said: record the date—

Skilled in languages, I said, record

The realm's great lord endowed it with skill.

The great king endowed him with skill
