بما كابدت من وجلي وصبري
Do you know, O brother of my soul, do you know
Do you know, O soulmate, do you know
What I have endured in my fear and patience:
Of the anxieties and patience I have endured

وناراً أشعلت بالشوق صدري
Sorrows that preoccupied my mind with love's anguish,
Worries that have preoccupied my ardent heart
And a fire that set my breast ablaze with longing.
And a fire that has ignited longing in my chest

And had I let my eye's tears flow,
If I had allowed a tear from my eye
They would have quenched it and eased some of my suffering.
It would have extinguished it and eased some of my pain
ولكنيand yet I رأيتsaw الدمعthe tears بحراًa sea
ولكني رأيت الدمع بحراً

And yet I saw the tears as a sea
But I saw the tear as an ocean
That drowns my home and reveals my secret,
That would flood my home and divulge my secret

And separate me from my beloved
When he comes to mend some of my brokenness.
If he came to mend some of my breakage
