1. أهلا وسهلا بالإما

    مِ الأريحي الناصر

    Welcome, welcome to the Imam,

    the generous helper!

  2. شرفت بيتاً زرته

    يا بحر علم زاخر

    You honored a house you visited,

    O brimming sea of knowledge!

  3. فاهتزت الأرواح من

    مرأى سناك الباهر

    So the souls stirred at

    the sight of your dazzling radiance.

  4. هذا على دوح الربى

    صنو الهزار الساحر

    This one, upon the hills' spreading trees,

    a twin of the enchanting nightingale,

  5. حيا وغنى قائلا

    يا مغرما بالناثر

    greeted and sang, saying:

    O you enamored of the prose writer,

  6. بشرى فذا بحر العلو

    م الشيخ عبد القادر

    glad tidings! For this is the sea of learning,

    Sheikh Abd al-Qadir.

  7. قلنا احتراما والرضا

    والبشر بادٍ ظاهر

    We said respectfully, while contentment

    and joy were evident and plain:

  8. أدخل هنيئا بالسلا

    م يا سعدنا بالزائر

    Enter happily in peace—

    oh, how fortunate we are to have this visitor!
