سلام يا إمام المسلمينا

سلام يا إمام المسلمينا

ويا نور الهدى للمؤمنينا

ويا نور الهدى للمؤمنينا

Peace, O imam of the Muslims,

Greetings, O Imam of the Muslims,

And O light of guidance for the believers.

And O light of guidance for the faithful,

وداعاً لا وداع النأي لكن

وداعاً لا وداع النأي لكن

لشوق في الفؤاد غدا كمينا

لشوق في الفؤاد غدا كمينا

Farewell—not a farewell of distance, but

Farewell, not the farewell of estrangement,

For a longing that has come to lie hidden in the heart.

But a longing in the heart lying in wait.

أفارق وجهك الأسنى وروحي

أفارق وجهك الأسنى وروحي

تحنّ إذا ذكرتكم حنينا

تحنّ إذا ذكرتكم حنينا

I part from your resplendent face, while my soul

I leave your most radiant face, and my soul

Yearns with longing whenever I remember you.

Yearns whenever you are remembered.

فعش حتى أعود ودم سعيداً

فعش حتى أعود ودم سعيداً

مع الأحياء محفوظا سنينا

مع الأحياء محفوظا سنينا

So live until I return, and remain happy,

So live long until I return, and stay cheerful

Among the living, kept safe for years.

Among the living, preserved for years.

يقاؤك للهدى عمراً طويلا

يقاؤك للهدى عمراً طويلا

نجاة بل حياة العالمينا

نجاة بل حياة العالمينا

Your long life in the service of guidance

May your guidance for righteousness endure,

Is salvation—indeed, the life of all the worlds.

Salvation, nay the life of all beings.

تصاحبك السلامة قل واني

تصاحبك السلامة قل واني

أقول اذا دعوت بها أمينا

أقول اذا دعوت بها أمينا

Say, 'May safety accompany you,' and I

Peace be with you, say it and I

Will say 'Amen' when you offer that prayer.

Will say, when supplicating, Amen.

فان دعاء مثلك مستجاب

فان دعاء مثلك مستجاب

وأنت اليوم قطب المتقينا

وأنت اليوم قطب المتقينا

For the prayer of one like you is answered,

For the prayer of the likes of you is answered,

And today you are the pole of the God-fearing.

And you are today the pole of the reverent.

فمن نال التفاتا منك أضحى

فمن نال التفاتا منك أضحى

بفضل اللَه ذا حبل متينا

بفضل اللَه ذا حبل متينا

So whoever gains attention from you becomes

So whoever gained your attention became,

By God's grace, one with a firm rope.

By the grace of God, firmly roped.
