قدر تم فبسطتم سحب حلمكم

فأمطرت بزلال العفو والكرم

A decree was fulfilled, so you spread the clouds of your forbearance,

and they rained the pure waters of pardon and generosity.

فعم عفوكم جل الورى وغدا

لابن البروني حظ وافر القسم

So your pardon embraced most of humankind, and there came to be

for Ibn al-Baruni a richly allotted share.

وإذ غدا برياض العفو مغتبطا

وفي ظلال الرضا يختال في النعم

And when he found himself delighted in the gardens of pardon,

and in the shades of favor walked proudly amid blessings,

غنى ارتجالا فقال الفضل فضلكم

والعفو عفوكم المنجي من النقم

he sang impromptu and said: Bounty is your bounty,

and pardon is your pardon, which saves from retribution;

والجود جودكم والعدل عدلكم

والحلم حلمكم والغير كالعدم

and generosity is your generosity, and justice is your justice;

and forbearance is your forbearance, and others are as nothing.

لعدلكم هاشم قد هشم الجور وام

تد الهناء وصار الصيت للسلم

Through your justice, Hashim has indeed crushed oppression, and

joy has spread, and peace has gained renown.

قد أعطي السهم للرامي فلا سبع

يعدو لا ثعلب يا راحة الغنم

The arrow has indeed been given to the archer, so no beast of prey

attacks, nor any fox—O comfort of the sheep!

دمتم بأوج العلا والسعد يخدمكم

والعون يحرسكم في الحل والحرم

May you remain at the summit of glory, with good fortune serving you,

and may succor guard you outside the sanctuary and within it.

في لحظات الرضا من أعين المرتضى

من عدله في الورى نور على العلم

In the glances of favor from the eyes of the chosen one,

whose justice among humankind is a beacon upon the mountain:

عبد الحميد أمير المؤمنين ومن

من عيبه أنه للكفر ذو النقم

Abd al-Hamid, Commander of the Faithful, and one

among whose faults is that he exacts retribution against unbelief.

انصره يا ربنا نصرا تعز به

دين النبيء الامين الواسع الكرم

Grant him victory, O our Lord, a victory through which You exalt

the faith of the trustworthy Prophet, boundless in generosity.

عليه أسنى صلاة الله ما نصرت

جيوش عبد الحميد المفرد الحكم

Upon him be God’s most radiant blessing, as long as victory is granted

to the armies of Abd al-Hamid, sole in rule.

كذا صحابته الغر الافاضل ما

شمس تجلت فغابت أنجم الظلم

Likewise upon his radiant, virtuous companions, as long as

a sun shines forth and the stars of darkness vanish;

وما تألم مسجون وما ختمت

محاكم العدل بالاعفا من العدم

and as long as a prisoner suffers, and as long as proceedings are ended

by the courts of justice with reprieve from annihilation.
