And indeed I feed the guest on a dewy night,
I entertain the guest on a night of abundant dew
From the finest mature camels, and I slake the long spears’ thirst.
With the choicest of the herd and give drink to the hills
وَأُعضيand I portion out meat إِذاwhen ضَنَّis stingy الجَوادُthe generous man بِمالِهِwith his wealth

And I portion out meat when the generous man is stingy with his wealth,
I slaughter when the generous stints what he owns
From fat young she-camels followed by their calves.
From unblemished, specially chosen camels
