Hear, then, a loyal friend's prayer, which he spent the night offering,
and remained by day steadfastly devoted to sincerity:
مَدحاًpraise مَلَأتُI filled بِهِwith it قَلبَthe heart of الحَسودِthe envious جَوىًwith anguish
كَماas مَلَأتُI filled بُطونَthe insides of الكُتبِbooks وَالصُحُفاand scrolls
praise with which I have filled the envious heart with anguish,
just as I have filled the insides of books and scrolls.

It traveled: no riders halted for the night in any region
without seeing there a choice passage of my praise of you.
فَاِفنِso outlast اللَيالِيَthe nights وَالأَيّامَand the days ساحِبَtrailing أَذ[begins 'skirts']
يالِ[completes 'skirts'] السَعادَةِhappiness ماas long as كَرّاthe two recur وَماand as long as اِختَلَفاthey alternate
So outlast nights and days, trailing the
skirts of happiness as long as they return and alternate.
