أَرىI see فيin مَناميmy sleep كُلَّevery شَيءٍthing يَسُرُّنيdelights me
أَرى في مَنامي كُلَّ شَيءٍ يَسُرُّني
وَرُؤيايَand my dream بَعدَafter النَومِsleep أَدهىmore dire وَأَقبَحُand more hideous
وَرُؤيايَ بَعدَ النَومِ أَدهى وَأَقبَحُ
I see in my sleep everything that delights me.
In my dreams, everything delights me,
And my dream, after sleep, is more dire and more hideous.
Yet after waking my visions are worse and uglier.
فَإِنso if كانَit is خَيراًgood فَهُوَthen it is أَضغاثُjumbled dreams حالِمٍa dreamer
فَإِن كانَ خَيراً فَهُوَ أَضغاثُ حالِمٍ
وَإِنand if كانَit is شَرّاًevil جاءَit came مِنfrom قَبلِbefore أُصبِحُI reach morning
وَإِن كانَ شَرّاً جاءَ مِن قَبلِ أُصبِحُ
So if it is good, it is a dreamer's jumble of dreams;
If it was good, it was a dreamer's raving;
And if it is evil, it comes before I reach morning.
If it was evil, it came at dawn's break.
