أتَيْتُكI came to you ياO مَوْلايَmy lord أبْغِيI seek زيارةًa visit
أتَيْتُك يا مَوْلايَ أبْغِي زيارةً
تسُرُّgladdens علىin رَغْمِspite of الأعادِيthe enemies الأمانِيَاthe hopes
تسُرُّ على رَغْمِ الأعادِي الأمانِيَا
I came to you, my lord, seeking a visit
I have come to you, my Master, seeking a visit
That gladdens hopes, despite the enemies.
That will please despite the enemies' griefs,
فإنso if كنتَyou were لمdid not تُصْبِحْbecome لِيَto me اليومَtoday آذِناًgranting permission
فإن كنتَ لم تُصْبِحْ لِيَ اليومَ آذِناً
فقدthen indeed أذِنَتْhas permitted ليme هِمَّتِيmy resolve بارْتِحالِيَاfor my departure
فقد أذِنَتْ لي هِمَّتِي بارْتِحالِيَا
So if today you have not granted me permission,
So if today you are not of welcoming me,
Then my resolve has granted me permission to depart.
Then my own will has permitted me to come to you
