وحاسب فرضيّ حسن منطقه

وحاسب فرضيّ حسن منطقه

أعيذ جوهره بالله من عرض

أعيذ جوهره بالله من عرض

And an accountant versed in inheritance shares, whose speech is lovely—

I reckoned his good logic was assumed

I seek God's protection for his essence from any affliction.

I sought refuge for his essence with Allah from attribute

ساومته الوصل فاستعصى قلت له

ساومته الوصل فاستعصى قلت له

خذ ما تشاء وصل يا حاسبا فرضى

خذ ما تشاء وصل يا حاسبا فرضى

I bargained with him for union, but he resisted; I said to him:

I bargained with him for companionship but he was obstinate

“Take what you wish and grant me union, O accountant!”—and he agreed.

I said to him: Take what you wish, just join me, O calculator of obligations, so he was content
