بحجَاب النَّهَارْ

The sun's brow veiled the moon

The sun's eyebrows veiled the moon

with the veil of day.

With the veil of daylight

وَجَلاَ الطَّل أنجماً زهُرَا

وَجَلاَ الطَّل أنجماً زهُرَا

في سماء البَهَارْ

في سماء البَهَارْ

And the dew revealed radiant stars

And the dew shone like stars blossoming

in the sky of the oxeye blossoms.

In the spring sky

وَلَوَى الآسُ سَالِفاً خَضِرَا

وَلَوَى الآسُ سَالِفاً خَضِرَا

فَوْقَ صدْغِ النَّوَارْ

فَوْقَ صدْغِ النَّوَارْ

And the myrtle curled a green sidelock

And the myrtle bent green and pliant

above the temple of the blossoms.
